Robert Stewart, MAI is a founding member and managing partner of APEX Capital Markets. Mr. Stewart is a seasoned expert in the commercial real estate finance industry with over three decades of experience. Under his leadership, APEX has emerged as a premier advisory and capital placement firm specializing in complex, high-value transactions across the United States.
Mr. Stewart brings an exceptional track record to APEX, having originated and executed multi-billion-dollar debt and equity transactions for acquisitions, development, repositioning, refinancing, bridge lending, and private capital structures. His ability to structure sophisticated financial solutions has made him a trusted advisor for institutional investors, developers, and high-net-worth individuals seeking innovative strategies in a competitive capital environment.
Before establishing APEX, Mr. Stewart earned national recognition at CBRE Capital Markets, the world’s largest commercial real estate firm. He was named #1 Top Producer at CBRE in 2005, 2006, and 2007—a rare achievement that underscores his deal-making prowess and deep industry relationships. Started his Mortgage Banking Career at GSPartners and after CBRE Capital Markets worked on the George Elkins/Walker & Dunlop Investment Banking Firm Platform.
Mr. Stewart holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California (USC), with a concentration in Real Estate Finance and Commercial Development, and a minor in Civil Engineering—an educational combination that bridges finance with the technical aspects of real estate. In 1993, he was awarded the prestigious MAI designation (Member of the Appraisal Institute), reflecting his deep valuation expertise and commitment to professional excellence.

Rick Olivas
Rick Olivas is a founding member and managing partner of APEX Capital Markets. Mr. Olivas, brings an extensive experience in capital markets with a focus on underwriting and structuring various financial transactions. He has conducted financial due diligence, risk analysis, and valuation to determine underwriting terms across a wide range of commercial real estate asset classes nationwide such as office, industrial, retail, restaurants, self-storage, hospitality, residential (subdivisions and apartments), senior housing, and going concern properties.
Mr. Olivas began his career with ACORE Consultants, Inc. as a commercial real estate appraiser. His experience spans all income-producing property types and includes portfolio valuations, feasibility studies, highest and best use analyses, market rent consultations, and valuation assignments throughout the continental United States, Latin America, and the Pacific Rim.
He is a Certified General Appraiser in the State of California and is a licensed California Real Estate Salesperson.
Mr. Olivas holds a Bachelor of Science in Business administration from California State University, Northridge (CSUN), with a concentration in Real Estate & Finance.
